They/Them

As a child, Brianna enjoyed observing the dynamics of their classmates, which led to them becoming the friend everyone sought out for advice and to be a safe person to share their secrets with. In high school, Brianna got involved in the queer community participating in event planning, volunteering and was a youth liaison for their local Pride organization. This allowed them to meet people from all walks of life and learn to sit with others in discomfort. Effortlessly, Brianna began to be the entrusted individual who provided a safe and affirming space for others who were struggling to come out or navigate their relationships after coming out. Over the years, this has grown to include those who practice some form of non-monogamy and those in the kink community.

Brianna earned their bachelor’s in psychology while working in education and continuing to volunteer at various organizations. The perspective of working with both students and marginalized individuals allowed them to understand that one person can accomplish a lot. They began to recognize, however, that when a person lacks support from a partner, their family, or community, the progress can only go so far. This led them to pursue a master’s degree in Marriage and Family therapy from Capella University. While at Capella University, Brianna continued to be passionate about their community which steered them to create a free clinic for the Queer community in partnership with local non-profits. This developed a stronger passion for them towards sex therapy, relationships, and identity. It created their view of a broader spectrum of what love could and can look like.

Brianna strives to create a space of acceptance in and out of the therapy room as a therapist and as a person. They show up authentically in sessions and encourage all clients to do the same. They believe that this is how each person will uncover their desires for their life story and the story of their relationships. Brianna recognizes that everyone is an expert in their own lives and collaborates with clients as a way to build trust, allowing clients to feel safe enough to open up and achieve their goals in therapy and life.
